Safety Protocols

By Zaniac Asheville,

At Tuesday's (2/22) Board of Education meeting, the Buncombe County School's board voted to adopt a mask optional policy effective Monday, 2/28. This means that masks in schools are strongly encouraged, but not required as of next Monday.

Zaniac's priority for the safety of our students and staff is at the top of our agenda and we have been fortunate that these safety policies, coupled with our meticulous cleaning, temperature taking, health screening, and wonderful supportive parents over the last two years have kept COVID-19 out of our campus.

We also recognize that the COVID situation is constantly evolving and Zaniac will follow the guidelines set down by Buncombe County Schools. From February 28, masks will be optional for our students inside the Zaniac campus.

We will continue taking temperatures and hand sanitizing at the front door. We will continue cleaning all the equipment between students, and we will alert parents if students are feeling sick. We will continue to monitor how COVID is impacting our schools. Should the metrics trend upward, we may need to revisit and revise the mask policy for the safety of our students, staff and parents.

As always, if your child is feeling ill, please do not send them to Zaniac.

Please know that all our safety decisions come from a place of love and we continue to do our best to make sure Zaniac is a safe place for your children.

We thank you for all your support over the last two years in helping us keep our students and staff safe!

If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Very best wishes,

Lynne & Denise
